NEWS- The National Unity Platform party has come out to clear air about the news of the treasure Benjamin Katanga defecting to the National Resistance Movement NRM.
Recently different social media platforms were awash with claims of the National Unity Platform Treasurer defecting to the ruling National resistance movement led by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tibuhaburwa.
The allegations also claimed that Mr. Katana was eyeing the Bushenyi’s Igara East parliamentary seat come 2026 general election.
However in a press conference held on 16th September 2024 at their headquarters in Kavule, NUP through their principal Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu trashed the claims stressing that the NRM regime is trying everything to divide and keep them suspicious of each other saying that it is out of pressure.
“Out of pressure, the regime will do everything to divide and keep us suspicious of each other – including peddling cheap propaganda against some of our most committed leaders”, NUP said.
According to NUP, the allegations are untrue and they therefore asked the public to dismiss them with all the contempt they deserve.
