NEWS- The Outspoken Priest of Kitanga Parish in Kabale Diocese Rev. Fr. Gaetano Batanyenda has entrusted his priesthood roles to Rev. Fr. Marious Byamukama.
In a colorful celebration and thanksgiving for 50 years of Priesthood and 80 years of age of Rev. Fr. Gaetano Batanyenda, the retiring priest was appreciated for his commitment to helping those in need, and his tireless efforts to make a positive impact on the lives of many.
Among the speakers was Council Kiconco Patrick Katabazi (KP) who among the few proposed the construction of a new and a modern residence of Priest’s house at Kitanga Parish and the Deputy Managing Director of National Water and Sewage Cooperation Dr. Sylvia Alinaitwe who contributed Ugx 23 million towards the house.
The two Pledged to continue supporting the Parish under the new leadership of Rev. Fr. Marious Byamukama in continuity of the tremendous work that Rev. Fr. Gaetano Batanyenda started and has inspired many to follow in his footsteps.
Giving his remarks at the function, the Current MP for Ndorwa County East and a Chief Guest at the function Hon. Wilfred Niwagaba appreciated Fr Gaetano for his continued roles in sharpening the politics of Uganda.
The Legislator Urged the New Kitanga Catholic Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Marious Byamukama to borrow a leaf from the good job done by his Predecessor and Join a journey of sharpening politics within the country.
Giving his remarks Rev. Fr. Gaetano Batanyenda appreciated the believers for supporting him during his time of service as he was able to do many projects towards developing the Parish.
He further thanked Rev. Fr. Marious Byamukama took good care of him the first time he was admitted to Nsambya hospital for a number of days thereafter entrusting him with the supportive foreigners who had been helping him.
In attendance was the Business Tycoon Mzee Musinguzi Garuga, the Rukiga women Member of Parliament Hon Caroline Kamisime Muhwezi, Hon Robert kakwere, a number of Religious Leaders from different beliefs among others.
Rev. Fr. Gaetano Batanyenda will stay to be remembered for spearheading a number of projects in the Parish, including a fully-fledged health Facility, 2 giants and the best performing Schools, a Mega Privately owned Printerry in Kigezi Sub-Region, a financial institution (Rukiga SACCO Ltd) among many others.
Rev. Fr. Gaetano Batanyenda was born on 30 June 1944 in Kanungu, and is one of the longest serving church leaders in Kabale diocese, a religious leader .
