NEWS– Old Students of Muhanga Progressive Secondary School in Rukiga District have today donated a 10,000-litre Water Tank and an Assortment of Essential Text books in support of the School.
The site accommodating the Water-tank had been under construction before it was commissioned for use on Friday in a momentous ceremony that culminated into a swallow ship. The donors were led by the Chairperson of Muhanga Progressive Secondary School Old Students Association Chairperson, C.P.A Rolling Matsiko Nyesigomwe alias RONYE who presided over the commissioning ceremony.
Mr. Nyesigomwe, a Certified Public Accountant and Managing Partner at RONYE Associates Company Ltd explained that their Water Tank donation was to help the School solve the challenge of water scarcity that would at times force the students to trek long distances away from the School in search of clean water. He said that the entire procurement process cost up to Ugx 5 million.
“We realized that we have a problem where our students go out so quite often to fetch water, and we wanted to solve that, basically,” He said.
The old students also delivered a donation of assorted Text Books, altogether valued at Ugx 1 Million, as they sought to enhance the School Library Capacity. The Textbooks were handed over to the School administration during the career guidance session, organized by RONYE Associates Company Ltd.
In an interview with the Press, CPA Nyesigomwe also revealed that they had organized RONYE CUP, a football tournament named after him, played in an inter-class format. The competition has been going on, and the final match will be played on Saturday, July 27th 2024 at Nyeikunama Playground, in Muhanga Town Council.
