Banda Business Community Comply to Police Directives, Remain Closed

NTUNGAMO- Tenants along Matovu street in Rubaare town council were on Wednesday seen languishing and stranded after their rentals were closed with all their merchandise by enforcement officer during sanitation enforcement operations.

According to witnesses who didn’t want to be named, this is the second time their rental places are being closed due to lack of latrine(s).

They added that their landlords used to convince them that they are in line with the authorities, in line with their guidance to have latrines up.

They were also closed around July this year due to the same issue.

The tenants as they approach to festival season are in the outcry since all of them conduct in businesses.

Both tenants are calling on their landlords to speed up the process with the authorities to put up latrine(s) to have their businesses resume in a short time.

According our reporter who spoke to one of the witnesses after the enforcement officer denied to speak to our reporter over the anonymity, the witness said she heard Deus Byaruhanga speaking on phone that it is monotonous he can’t agree.

The mayor Rubaare town council Mr. Benson Kansiime said was not aware of the operation.
