King Ceasor Mulenga for National Chairperson Entrepreneur's League

This week, on Wednesday, philanthropist and entrepreneur H.E. King Ceasor Augustus Mulenga officially picked up his nomination forms to run for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Central Executive Committee (CEC) National Chairperson Entrepreneur’s League.

Known for his extensive contributions to various sectors, Mulenga has garnered a reputation as a key supporter of business, religious, and educational initiatives in Uganda, as well as owning a diverse portfolio of businesses both domestically and internationally.

Insiders within the NRM suggest that Mulenga stands a strong chance of taking on fellow tycoon Hassan Basajabalaba who’s eyeing the same seat that is been in the hands of the Mbarara North Member of Parliament Hon. Robert Rukari.

Mulenga’s campaign is already gaining momentum, having traversed the Buganda and Acholi regions, where he has received endorsements from local delegates who see him as a fitting candidate for this influential role.

Mulenga’s vision for the Entrepreneur’s league Chairperson-ship is ambitious yet clear. He aims to facilitate the attraction of investors to Uganda, providing strategic advice to the government on optimal investment plans. His goal is to ensure that the concerns of the business community are effectively communicated to the top decision-making circles within the party. This proactive approach is expected to create a more conducive environment for business growth and development across the country.

His candidacy is viewed not just as a blessing for the Kigezi Region but also as a significant opportunity for the broader business community in Uganda. By elevating the voices of entrepreneurs and business leaders, Mulenga intends to create a more accessible platform for proposing ideas and solutions that can be discussed at the highest levels of the party.

Dr. Tanga Odoi, the NRM electoral commission chairperson, shared insights with the press on Thursday, revealing that over 73 party members expressed interest on the first day of nominations for CEC positions. This level of interest underscores the competitive nature of the upcoming elections within the party.

Looking ahead, Odoi announced that the party chairman and the country’s President, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, will visit the party headquarters on Saturday, June 28, 2025, to also express his interest in the position of the Party’s National Chairman. The nomination period for all candidates will culminate on July 1, with the official nominations taking place from July 1 to July 4, 2025.

As the political landscape within the NRM continues to evolve, Mulenga’s candidacy is being closely watched by both political analysts and the general public. His commitment to uplifting the business community in Uganda could potentially reshape the way business interests are represented within the party, making this a pivotal moment for both Mulenga and the NRM as they prepare for the upcoming elections.
