KAMPALA– The long serving Police spokesperson, Senior Commissioner of Police-SCP Fred Enanga has handed over the office to his successor Assistant Commissioner of Police, Kituuma Rusoke.
Rusoke, who previously headed the Kampala Capital City Authority law enforcement team, has been serving as the RPC of Lwizi Police Region.
Enanga was redeployed into the Police Interpol as the Deputy Director. Having served in various police departments including lands, Enanga was first appointed as spokesperson in 2014 to replace Judith Nabakooba by Gen Kale Kayihura.
He would later be dropped and replaced by Kayima appointed the new spokesperson.
In 2019, John Martins Okoth Ochola reappointed Enanga as the Police Spokesperson.He is credited for defending the Police even during hard times.
On Monday, while bidding farewell to Journalists at Naguru Police Headquarters, Enanga, who has been known for defending Police in hard times, acknowledged that being a police spokesperson is a challenging task, particularly when faced with criticisms and abuse from the public.
