KAMPALA– The Prime Minister of Uganda Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 represented President Museveni at the opening of the 49th Eastern and Southern Africa Anti-Money Laundering Group (ESAAMLG) Task Force of Senior Officials Meeting.

The meeting is a key gathering of regional financial intelligence stakeholders aimed at strengthening collaboration in the fight against Money Laundering (ML), Terrorist Financing (TF) and other financial crimes.

The Eastern and Southern Africa Anti-Money Laundering Group meeting which started from March 28th and will end April 4th, 2025, at Speke Resort Munyonyo, Kampala.

This high-level event has brought together government representatives, financial regulators, law enforcement agencies, financial intelligence units and international partners to assess the progress of anti-money laundering and counter-financing of terrorism frameworks in the region.

The 49th Eastern and Southern Africa Anti-Money Laundering Group Meeting has been organised to review progress in implementing Financial Action Task Force 6recommendations on AML/CFT, discuss regional challenges in tackling financial crimes among others.
