KAMPALA- The Prime Minister Rt Hon Robinah Nabbanja has urged Engineers across the country to guard against challenges that threaten their profession.
The Prime Minister made the remarks today March 4th 2025 afternoon while addressing a cross-section of Engineers and other officials at this year’s World Engineering day which was held at Hotel Africana in Kampala.
Rt Hon Nabbanja pointed out challenges such as shoddy work, delays caused by design reviews, slow response from supervising Engineers, high construction costs and exaggerated land acquisition costs as major setbacks to the noble profession.
The Prime Minister explains that, if the above challenges are not addressed the country’s sustainable development goals will be curtailed.
The World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development is one of the UNESCO international days and is celebrated annually on 4th March and the day was commemorated under the theme “Shaping Our Sustainable Future Through Engineering”.
