KANUNGU– The Police in Kihihi Town council, Kanungu district have impounded a vehicle registration number UBG 850J which the owner claims it was stolen from her.
The vehicle was recently bought by Kihihi businessman Agaba Enock Karema from Kaima Mohamed at Ugx 15 million which was fully paid on December 17th 2023.
Karema was given a sale agreement and other accompanying documents from Uganda Revenue Authority which were witnessed by Niwamanya Moses, Kusingura Micheal and Kugumisiriza John all residents of Kihihi Town Council.
However, a woman who identified herself as Naziiwa Mariam a resident of Bwebajja in Kampala has appeared claiming that she is the owner of the same car and claims that it was stolen, which prompted the Police to impound it.
However, Naziiwa has not shown any documents to lay her claim to the vehicle.
The Officer in Charge of Kihihi Police Station Tumukunde Emmanuel has confirmed that the vehicle was impounded and is currently under Police custody awaiting verification and establishment of real owner.
The vehicle has been taken to Kanungu Central Police Station for safe custody.
