KAMPALA– The Uganda Traffic Police Spokesman Micheal Kananura has confirmed that 6 people have been confirmed dead and over 30 were seriously injured after the bus they were travelling in had a head on collusion with a truck along Masaka – Mbarara Road on Monday morning.

Kananura told our reporter that the crash took place at Kirumba Village in Kyazanga in Lwengo District when bus registration number UBQ 621Z belonging to Gateway Bus Company collided head on with Fuso Truck registration number UBM 673K loaded with sacks of maize.

Kananura said that the deceased identity are yet to be known and confirmed after informing their next of kin and most of them were traveling from Kabale in South Western Uganda and heading to Kampala City.

An eye witness, Richard Ssekitoleko who is also the LC 1 Chairman of Kirumba Village said that the majority of the victims got multiple injuries and were ruched to nearby health facilities and the occupants of the truck suffered multiple injuries with fractured limbs.
