The workshop 2nd of its kind in the constituency is aimed at equipping the community with life changing skills and how they can fight poverty and unemployment through starting up small scale industries.
Judith Ineku marketing executive at enterprise Uganda while chairing the preparatory meeting for the workshop at Nyarushanje sub county head quarters on Thursday February 13th told the stakeholders to ensure attending this great opportunity that will involve mindset change and how best they can manage businesses once they are set.
M/s Ineku added that the workshop will help to brainstorm the community from the tendency of waiting for white collar jobs and rather learn how to set up their own enterprises.
She added that most Ugandans are poor because they prefer cheap and free money whish she said such money can’t be planned for to make a fundamental change in their lives.
“The biggest challenge facing Ugandans is that they prefer free things and begging which will not change their status quo. We therefore want to change their mindset so that they can start up with small and with big” M/s Ineku said.
Hon Mary Paula told the meeting that this is a great opportunity which many parliamentarians have yearned to take to their constituents but failed and therefore asked those of Rubabo to utilize the opportunity.
Mary Paula in a message delivered for her by her political assistant Emmanuel Byarugaba Ndakwenda hailed the people of Rubabo who attended the first edition of this workshop for implementing what they were taught and called for more venturing in small scale businesses.
“Am very glad that we are already reaping fruits of Success from the trainees of the first workshop, some have started schools, honey value addition, onion growing and others with different kinds of businesses where they now earn from” Mr Ndakwenda noted.
The Nyarushanje sub county Chief Deo Kirenzi used the meeting to lash at politicians who critise them of being sided with the National Resistance Movement NRM saying that their mandate guarantees them to work with the existing governments.
“our mandate is always and will always be patterning with the existing government to provide sustainable service delivery to the communities we serve and there’s no way we can serve our people when we are colliding with the government” Kirenzi noted.
Kirenzi noted that most Ugandans are poor because of a poor mindset that only white collar jobs can get them out of poverty.
He asked the constituents of Rubabo to be mindful that a good leader is the one who works for the development of their people.
Michael Musiime the Nyarushanje sub county chairperson hailed the legislator Mary Paula and Enterprise Uganda for complimenting government’s efforts of employment creation and poverty eradication.
The legislator Turyahikayo called for equal representation from all cells in the constituency for the training that will be conducted during the 1st week of term one holiday.
