NEWS- The management of Kabale Technical institute has decried the state of roads in their community stressing that they are hampering studies at the institution.

They revealed this over the weekend as their students together with other community members were rehabilitating Kekubo-Kasazo road. The road, which was in poor condition, connects Kabale town to many villages surrounding Lake Bunyonyi.

Speaking to our reporter after rehabilitating a 1km road from the institution to Kekubo trading center which is a suburb area of Kabale municipality, the Gild president Ariho Michael and his deputy Ninshaba Evas decried high cost of transport being charged by boda boda riders and taxi drivers.

They added the situation has been worse most especially during rainy seasons where they would fall down while others would fail to come to the institution.

The Kabale Technical Institute Deputy Principal Dominic Mubangizi said the poor state of Kekubo Kasazo road has been deterring students from joining the institution.

Mubangizi called for intervention from the district to have the road worked on saying it needs drainage channels and culverts.

The Rutoma cell local council 1 Kananura Ananius Bucenkye commended students of Kabale Technical Institute for the great work done on the road adding that they have been crying for the government’s intervention but all in vain.
