NEWS– The Prime Minister Rt Hon Robinah Nabbanja on Sunday joined Christians of Biizi Uganda Matyr’s Catholic Church Nyamigisa Vicariate in Masindi District to celebrate Pentecost Sunday.
While preaching at the function, the Munsignor of the Nyamigisa Vicariate Rev Fr Joseph Birungi Akiiki said that the day commemorates the descent of the Holy Spirit on the Apostles and other followers of Jesus Christ while they were in Jerusalem celebrating the Feast of Weeks.
Prime Minister Nabbanja reiterated a call to leaders of all religious denominations to make use of their platforms to sensitise the population on the socio economic transformation agenda.
She reaffirmed government’s commitment of establishing a Public University in Bunyoro situated at Bulera in Hoima City noting that the item has been included in the budget for the upcoming financial year.
The Minister of State for Public Service Hon Grace Mary Mugasa Akiiki also attended the event, alongside area Members of Parliament, Local leaders and a cross section of Opinion and religious leaders attended the mass.
