NEWS– The Prime Minister Rt Hon Robinah Nabbanja has inspected the onstruction of a new bridge over River Nyamuguza, which marks the boundary between Kakumiro and Mubende districts and hailed the progress of the work going there.
The Prime Minister made the remarks yesterday while receiving Bishop Joshua Lwere, the immediate former General Overseer of the National Fellowship of Born Again Pentecostal Churches of Uganda at the construction site who also commended the community service efforts.
The old bridge over River Nyamuguza at its crossing point in Kibijo sub-county in Kakumiro and Butologo sub-county in Mubende was washed away when the river flooded last year.
The Prime Minister said that the new bridge will restore the smooth flow of traffic between the two districts and commended all the residents and local leaders who are working with the government to re build this bridge.
The Prime Minister also thanked the Ministry of Works and Transport and Kakumiro District Local Government for deploying engineers and various equipment to facilitate the execution of this important activity.
