NEWS- President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has today started his tour Greater Mubende Region starting in Kyankwanzi District where he visited a Parish Development Model beneficiary Patrick Matovu, who has established a local chicken poultry farm.
While speaking at Matovu’s Poultry farm, President Museveni said that he was glad that he has made good use of the Ugx 1million funds and improved his household income, as well as mobilized his fellow beneficiaries.
President Museveni if all Parish Development Model beneficiaries adhere to the fund’s management guidelines and start to repay their loans by the second year, the fund will have a significant resource envelope of about Ugx 800 million per parish.
On the issue of corruption, President Museveni implored the wananchi to be vigilant and always report the thieves so that the government can deal with those officials involved because their time is running out.
President today started Museveni his Parish Development Model program in greater Mubende Region which comprises the districts of Mityana, Mubende, Kyankwanzi, Kasanda and Kiboga.
The President is tomorrow expected to launch Mubende Region Industrial Hub at Kibuye-Vunga village in Bugonzi Parish in Kitenga Sub County in Buwekula County in Mubende District and also hold a meeting of Parish Model leaders at Mirembe Maria Gardens in Kasanda District on Wednesday.
The President will wind up the tour on Thursday with the official commissioning of Uganda Support to Municipal Infrastructure Development
(USMID) roads in Mubende Municipality and later in the afternoon address a mega rally at Saza Playground in Kiwanguzi in Kiboga District.
President Museveni has already visited Acholi, Lango, Teso, Karamoja, Bugisu, Busoga, Bukedi, Kigezi, Ankole, Bunyoro and West Nile Regions to assess the implementation of Parish Development Model where he said that he will add more money for the Parish Development Model.
