NEWS- The Rwenkorongo – Kagoma road, crucial for connecting Kahungye and Butanda sub-counties in Kabale district, is in dire condition, causing distress among users.
This road, along with the Nyombe – katoma and Kagoma roads, serves as an essential alternative to the Rubaya – Muko road, linking Kabale and Rubanda districts.
However, locals report that these routes have become practically impassable, especially during rainy seasons, due to constant flooding.
Residents, including Dickson Kamuhanda, Spencer Byamukama, and Everlist Akankwasa, highlight that the deteriorating conditions have persisted for over two years. Consequently, individuals unwilling to navigate the flooded areas are forced to pay boda boda riders between Ugx 7000 to 10.000 for assistance.
The roads are riddled with potholes, severely disrupting transportation of goods in the area. Locals accuse the Kabale district authorities of neglecting the situation.
