NEWS- The territorial police in Bwera Division, Rwenzori East Region in Kasese district are holding a retired police officer on allegations of killing his own wife.
The suspect has been identified as Sipriano Kyakwire, a resident of Mundongo village in Nyakiyumbu sub-county who handed himself to police after allegedly killing Valeria Masika, a 48- year-old resident of the same area.
SP Luke Mbusa, the Rwenzori East Regional Community Liaisons Officer confirmed the incident to Messiah Radio and said it happened today morning at around 11:00am.
According to him, the suspect is said to have picked a knife and stabbed his wife to death after developing a quarrel. The police have since recovered exhibits from the scene of crime as investigations continue.
He used the same platform to call upon couples to always report their grievances to relevant authorities especially police.
