LCV Chairperson Moroto

MOROTO– Riamiriam Civil Society Network- Karamoja (RCSN-K) is thrilled to announce the launch of a new project, “Enhancing Governance for Inclusive Development in Karamoja”. Funded by the Royal Danish Embassy, Kampala, the 42-month Shs 1.3850 billion project aims to enhance governance for efficient and inclusive service delivery in Karamoja by 2027.

The project will be implemented in Nadunget sub-county, Moroto District, and Rengen sub-county, Kotido District. Riamiriam Civil Society Network Karamoja will work closely with local governments, communities, and stakeholders to strengthen governance structures, promote transparency and accountability, and empower citizens to demand quality services.

“We are thrilled to embark on this project, which will contribute significantly to improving the lives of the people of Karamoja,” said Richard Omoding, Executive Director, Riamiriam Civil Society Network- Karamoja.

Speaking during the inception meeting at Moroto District Chambers, the Chief Administrative Officer, Moroto, Kassim Kutosi Nasibu emphasized the need for individuals to take care of their health seriously. 

The Chairman LCV, Moroto, David Koryang welcomed the project and called for transparency and accountability during implementation. 

The project will also focus on strengthening Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) for effective advocacy and engagement, and supporting government programs to improve the overall well-being of Karamoja.Ends
