Drama ensued on Thursday as irritated residents of Nyarwanya I and the neighboring cells engulfed and besieged the family of the notorious resident Kasiita who had been a threat to the community. They pulled him from his home and took him to the Police.

Police officers did not waste time for irritated residents who stormed at the station with the suspect Kasiita, they immediately whisked him to the custody.

Before being whisked to the police custody, the perpetrator told this reporter that the residents trespassed his farm by creating a road and cutting gasses for his cows without his consent, which annoyed him and barricaded the road by digging ditches in it.

He added that they were supported by local leaders, which he said being government officials cannot permit them to trespass someone’s lands without his consent.

Fred Karagirwe the LC I chairperson Nyarwanya 1 said that Kasiita has been barricading residents from using the road for many times but they would open it and he (Kasiita) would close it again until on Thursday when over 70 residents stormed his family, forcefully arrested and took him to police.

Calleb Tindimwebwa the area councilor representing Nyarwanya to Rubaare sub county council said that Kasiita has been an obstacle to the development of the area for over two years by blocking the residents from using the road to take their produce to the markets.

The Resident District Commissioner Ntungamo district Geoffrey Mucunguzi aka Cadre Mucunguzi said that he cannot allow someone to use a chance of festive season when many offices are closed to terrorize the residents stressing that apart from that, he would use the court to give him a court order and follow the law.

The RDC added that despite one case of theft of cows from Rushenyi that were intercepted by security officers in Kajara and a fight in one family that resulted in the death of a person after the booze from one bar, there were no more crimes committed in Ntungamo district during this period.

The officer in charge of Rubaare police station Ilim Muzoora was away from the office by the time of the incident and his mobile phone numbers were unreachable by press time.
