RUKUNGIRI- The Rubabo County Hopeful Member of Parliament Hon. Lawrence Mujuni Mpitsi Pac Singa has refuted as fake rumors the social media post making rounds alleging that he has crossed to contest for the seat on the National Unity Platform ticket.
Mujuni Mpitsi, an NRM stalwart intimated to the press that the post is malicious and being circulated by his political opponents, seeking public sympathy by tarnishing his name.
Mpitsi stressed that he’s a staunch National Resistance Movement Cadre who can’t be swayed by the Political storm, adding that he’s strong and ready to take on everyone in a bid to win the NRM flag in the forthcoming party elections.
The social media platforms making rounds stated that “Hello my fellow comrades, I Mujuni Mpitsi would like to inform you that i will stand as a member of parliament under the National Unity Platform. I call upon you to support me in the coming elections 2026-2031.Thank you” People power our power”.
However, Mujuni Mpitsi told www.informer.co.ug reporter that the public should ignore such senseless rumors, remain committed to their goal of winning the flag and the general election as well.
“I want to confirm to you my supporters that this misinformation is being circulated by malicious propagandists seeking to destroy my name. However, I urge you to remain committed, victory is on our side” Mujuni Mpitsi said.
The allegation of Mpitsi’s crossing comes at a time when he has proved to be the strong and best candidate to take on the County’s NRM Parliamentary flag compared to others who have already expressed interest in the same seat.
Mpitsi is looking for the populace mandate to unseat the current legislator Hon. Namanya Naboth of the Forum for Democratic Change FDC who has so far served for a one term in Parliament.
