NEWS- The Rukungiri District officials on Tuesday launched the Ugx 15 Million renovation project at Nyabushenyi Health Centre II in Nyabushenyi Parish, Nyarushanje Sub County.
The project gained momentum through persistent efforts by Hon Mathias Rwabugumi, the Nyarushanje Sub County representative and the Rukungiri District Council Secretary for Health in collaboration with the District chairperson.
Rwabugumi who is also the Rubabo County Shadow National Resistance Movement Member of Parliament told the press that together with the district Executive committee chose to renovate Nyabushenyi Health Centre II since it was in a dire state that needed urgent attention.
He noted that the renovation process to be undertaken by Dronic Engineering company limited is set to take them a month to have it completed since the government has already released funds for the activity.
According to him, the work will include renovation of the facility building and a 10,000 water harvesting tank hence appealing to the Nyabushenyi community to be watchdogs of the works that will be done at their facility so that it can serve them with easy access to health services.
Peace Muhangi, Omukashanda cell Chairperson and Patience Bagyendera, the Village Health Team Nyabushenyi hailed their area councilor Rwabugumi for lobbying for them this great project that will boost the state of health service delivery in their community.
The duo told our reporter that they have been finding it difficult to access health services in the area given the state in which the facility was.
Local residents, who had long given up hope on the government addressing the dilapidated state of the health facility, are now expressing their joy and anticipate an improvement in the working conditions for medical personnel and are optimistic about accessing better health services.
Hon Rwabugumi in his capacity as the district councilor for Nyarushanje Sub County, assured the community that the ongoing work meets high standards adding that he personally inspected the site, expressing satisfaction with the progress.
He urged fellow local leaders and residents to actively supervise the renovations to ensure the final outcome meets the expected quality.
