RUKUNGIRI- Parents have been urged to support the schools from which their Children study from if they want them to take a step in terms of development.
The remarks were made by Mujuni Lawrence Mpitsi Singa Pac who is eyeing the Rubabo County Parliamentary seat as he officiated at a fundraising drive at Rwekuriajo Catholic Church aimed at constructing a latrine at Rwekuriajo primary school.
Mpitsi implored the parents to always love and support their schools especially in infrastructure development since government normally delays to positively consider their requests given a number of commitments it holds.
Mpitsi was represented by Dr. Adrian Rwankwindi to support the Parents and foundation body of Rwenkureijo Primary School in their bid to have improved latrines to replace the current dilapidated ones that put pupils’ lives at risk.
The aspiring Rubabo County legislator Mujuni Mpitsi donated Ugx 1 Million in cash to help the school administrators to purchase some construction materials since a toilet is one of the essential needs at the school for improved health.
“Thank you Rwenkureijo Primary School stakeholders for this initiative, we can’t wait for the government that has a number of commitments in numerous area and programs. Therefore, whenever we find we can put a stone in supporting our institutions as parents, let’s do so as we look forward to having bright children who will in future support their community” said Rwankwindi on behalf of Mpitsi.
It should be remembered that Mpitsi is not supporting Rubabo constituents for the very first time, recently as a way of reducing the burden of residents with unsafe water especially in Rwenkurijo area, the aspiring legislator also constructed a community borehole that is currently supplying residents with clean and safe water.
It was upon this background that Rwankwindi appealed to the people of Rwenkureijo and Rubabo County as a whole to support Hon. Mujuni Mpitsi in the forthcoming elections for he is capable of providing services to people.

Alex Biryomumaisho the PTA Chairperson of Rwekuriajo primary school thanked the government for always supporting them although they at times lack some essential materials like desks and toilets to cater for the increasing number of pupils, currently exceeding 400.
He added that as they school, they are faced with the challenge of quick transfer of their teachers, the situation they blame for a decline the performance of their school in National and district exams.
Biryomumaisho thanked the aspiring legislator Mujuni Mpitsi for backing the government in supporting them towards construction of a toilet that has been a major challenge in the school, stressing that they had reached the extent where teachers and pupils were sharing the same facility for short and long call.
He called upon the government to consider providing them with more facilities at this school if they are to boost the learners’ performance.
Alex Niwagaba the Rwenkureijo Primary School Head teacher said it’s so challenging in a school with over 400 pupils, with teachers sharing toilets with pupils on top of inadequate sitting facilities.
Niwagaba was however grateful to Hon Mujuni Mpitsi for the supporting hand stressing that such pro-people leaders deserve positions that will see the area take a step in development.
