NEWS- The parish priest for Nyakishenyi Nyakishenyi in Kabale diocese Rev. Fr. Ambrose Mugisha Kayogoza has challenged Christians to always support construction works going on at their respective places of worship as a way of fostering development at their respective places of worship.
Rev Fr. Kayogoza made the comment on Sunday April 28th 2024, while preaching at the thanksgiving function of Mr. Richard Tumusiime the Nyakishenyi parish head of laity, a function that was aimed at raising funds to complete the construction of a Catechist’s residential house at Kacence hiika in Nyakishenyi parish.
Fr. Richard emphasized the mandate of Christians in supporting construction works at their respective worship places.
Additionally, Fr. Kayogoza told Christians that they are the pillars of the church citing John: 15:1 that “I’m the grape vine and you’re my branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you’ll bear much fruit; apart from me, you can do nothing”.
He asked Christians to stick on Christ if they are to endure life challenges.

Richard Tumusiime said that his decision to organize the thanksgiving was based on his desire to see the Catechist’s house at Kacence hiika completed.
As a parish head of laity, Tumusiime challenged Christians in different churches to always consider enhancement of their catechists’ welfare, noting that it is a mandate of Christians to support servants in their work.

Speaking as a guest of honor, Mujuni Lawrence Mpitsi the former director at the Ministry of East African community affairs hailed Christians of Kacence Catholic Church for commencing the good work of construction of the Catechist’s house noting that when completed, it will alter the working environment of their servant.
Mpitsi who is eyeing the Rubabo urged Christians in different churches to also focus on availing and supporting church founded institutions like schools and hospitals.

Construction works that began in 2020 are apparently at 80%, and of the Ugx 23M that the project requires, a total of Ugx 6M and 200 bags of cement were raised on Sunday to support the project.
