NEWS– The Police in Rubirizi District have started investigations to establish circumstances surrounding the alleged suicide by hanging case of a 21year old man.
SSP Marcial Tumusiime the greater Bushenyi Police spokesman confirmed the incident and indentified the deceased as Deus Kiiza 21, a resident of Nyakatunga ll cell, Mugyera Parish, Katanda Sub County in Rubirizi District.
Its alleged that on December 5, 2023, the deceased left home at around 9:00Am for Katerera Town and went back home where he stayed together with his sisters.
Tumusiime said he then moved away and the sisters thought that he had gone to his house but only to find him hanging dead on a rope in the sitting room of his mother’s house.
Julius Katarihwa 48, the Nyakatunga cell chairman said that the deceased has been threatening to kill his mother and other family members, then kill himself after he was stopped him from selling the family land.
Tumusiime said the deceased has been a drug addict thus destabilizing his family members adding that the body had no any physical injuries by the time it was retrieved from the rope.
Tumusiime confided to this reporter that the body of the deceased was conveyed to Rugazi Health Center IV mortuary for Postmortem as inquiries are on going.
