NEWS- The incumbent Member of Parliament for Ruhaama main Hon. Henry Zinkurataire has begged the former Ntungamo district woman Member of Parliament Ms Beatrice Rwakimari to feel sympathy for him to swiftly stand for the second term without her encumbrances.
Zinkuratire made the appeal on Tuesday, October 23rd 2024 during the sendoff of Lieutenant Topher Magabari’s sister, Annet Ahumuza in Kitembe parish, Nyarutuntu Sub County in Ntungamo district.
His concern comes amidst rumors that Ms Beatrice Rwakimari is gaining interest to stand for Ruhaama main county Parliamentary seat come 2026.
Zinkurataire said that since Ms Rwakimari was in the Parliament of Uganda for couple of years as woman Member of Parliament for Ntungamo district, she should pave a way for him to continue representing the people of Ruhaama main county atleast for one more term.
“I think Beatrice Rwakimari should feel like someone who got enough in the Parliament and this is my time to enjoy, kindly I request her to feel sympathy for me to move on” said Zinkuratire.
The legislator stressed that as a Member of the Parliamentary legal committee affairs, they have already signed two bills set to be tabled in Parliament for scrutiny, one being reconciliation and tribunal bill as well as National arbitration.
He noted that the two bills will help the legislature to continue with the process of rationalisation of government agencies which is being opposed by some legislators.
The Parliamentarian rallied the mourners to embrace government initiatives like Parish Development Model, Emyooga among others intended to eradicate poverty from the household level.
On her turn, Ms Rwakimari insisted that she is coming to contest for the Ruhaama County main Parliamentary seat and rallied for support come 2026 so that development is realized in their area.
