NEWS– Rukungiri Resident District Commissioner Steven Nsubuga Bewaayo has hailed the former District Police Commander SSP Musa Tibakirana for his dedicated service to the nation and building team work spirit during the time he has been the DPC in Rukungiri since 2021.

RDC Nsubuga Bewaayo made the remarks on Friday July 12th 2024 while speaking at the farewell event that was organized by Rukungiri District Community for former DPC SSP Musa Tibakirana and welcoming the new DPC SSP Apollo Kyangungu which took place at Rukungiri Inn in Rukungiri Municipality.

The RDC described the outgoing DPC as a person who knew what his job entailed and ensured that it was done without interfering others and he welcomed the new DPC and pledged to cooperate with him.

On his behalf, Musa Tibakirana who has been Rukungiri District Police Commander since September 2021, said that he had found it easy to work in the area because of team work from the entire Police staff, political leaders, business community and all other stake holders which made his work easier and asked them to extend such cooperation to the new DPC.

Tibakirana now heads to Kampala Metropolitan North as a Deputy regional Police Commander.

The new District Police Commander Apollo Kyangungu said that he was ready to work with Rukungiri community to ensure that their lives and property are protected and this is done according to the existing laws without fear or favor.

The Rukungiri Municipality Town Clerk Robert Niwamanya hailed the outgoing DPC for the work Weldon and wished him well in the new assignment stressing that such a farewell is a sign that he (Tibakirana) was a pro people officer in executing his duties.

Rukungiri Municipality Mayor, His Worship Charles Makuru equally praised the outgoing DPC for the excellent services rendered to the district narrating that criminality had since reduced calling upon the incoming District Police boss to pick up from where his predicesor had reached.

Rukungiri District boss Geoffrey Kyomukama represented by Caledonia Clare Bakironda, the secretary of education and commercial services in Rukungiri District highlighted that the outgoing DPC has had distinguished characteristics on duty that has seen him accorded farewell in such a honor.

The district boss also requested the new DPC to take on from how Musa had put up so that he successfully works for this area.

Byaruhanga Chrysostom Rwakana, the Rukungiri District business community chairperson was grateful to the president and the Commander in Chief of the armed forces for the peace ushered to this country that has seen business survive. Hailed Tibakirana for the distinguished character and dedication in serving the community wherever he’s posted.

Rwakana was concerned with officers who don’t respond to people’s calls whenever there’s an urgent need but thanked Tibakirana for he has been examplaly in in responding and acting on community’s emergent calls.

The function was graced by a number of district leaders, technocrats, business community, Church leaders among other well wishers that Musa Tibakirana had worked with.
