The Rukungiri District Local Government has commissioned a newly renovated classroom block at Kajunju Primary School in Kajunju Cell, Ndere Parish, Ruhinda Sub County in Rujumbura Constituency.
The project, which includes two classrooms, was completed by K-MARO Contractors at a cost of over UGX 70 million.
The commissioning ceremony took place at the school premises and was attended by local leaders, teachers, and community members.
Rukungiri Resident District Commissioner (RDC) Steven Nsubuga Bewayo urged the headteacher and school staff to embrace such development projects and work together to elevate Kajunju Primary School to greater heights.
He thanked Security Minister Jim Muhwezi for his cooperation with school leaders, which he said contributed to the development of the school.
Representing Minister Jim Muhwezi, Isaac Kaharuza encouraged school leaders to mobilize children to attend school regularly, emphasizing that consistent attendance is key to improving education standards in the district.
The director of K-MARO Contractors Denise Ngabirano, commended the local government, Minister Jim Muhwezi, and school authorities for their support during the project. He reaffirmed the company’s commitment to delivering quality construction services.
Kajunju Primary School Headteacher, Obadiah Gumisiriza, expressed gratitude to the government for its support. She also called on parents to develop a strong passion for the school in order to foster further development.
The school currently has an enrolment of 114 pupils.
