NEWS– The Police in Rukiga District have arrested a Rwandan national who is alleged to have had carnal knowledge of his 6 year own biological daughter.
Kigezi Region Police Spokesman Elly Maate identified the suspect as Fosta Twizemana a herdsman in Kayebe village in Kigara Parish in Kamwezi Sub County in Rukiga District.
Maate told journalists that it is alleged that the offence was committed on the 26th July 2024 from the farm where he was grazing cattle.
The suspect Fosta Twizemana is alleged to have gone to the farm with his wife one Veneranda Baresirente and their two daughters aged 2 and 6 years.
While at the farm at the extreme end, he called the children from their mother who was digging, on arrival he sent away the 2 years old and had sex with the 6 years victim and after the act, he sent her back to the mother, but on arrival she noticed that she was seated alone and feeling uneasy.
The mother then instructed her to go home, but when she set off to move, the mother noticed her movement with difficulty which made her check and found blood stains on her thighs and when the mother asked what had happened she revealed to have been defiled by her father.
The mother of the victim rushed to Kamwezi Police Station and reported the incident and the suspect was arrested and transferred to Rukiga Central Police Station for further management.
Maate has condemned the act and described it as barbaric and uncultured and wondered how the man could defile the minor of that age who needed parental protection and said that the suspect will be arraigned before courts of law to answer charges off aggravated defilement.
