NEWS– As schools in Kabale municipality reopened for the second term, administrators are urging parents to ensure their children attend school on time and consistently.
In the schools visited by our reporter, Kigezi high school, God’s Favor nursery and primary school Ebenezer Christian school and many others highlighted that Consistent attendance is crucial for students to grasp concepts taught in class and make the most of their educational experience.
According to Akampurira Abraham, the headteacher of Kigezi high school in the northern division of Kabale municipality, at least a good number of students had reported but further encouraged parents to cooperate well with administration.
Akampurira further noted that with a fixed term calendar filled with various activities, parents are urged to guide and encourage their children to achieve their full potential in their studies.
Additionally, Saturday Collins, director of God’s Favor School emphasized the importance of parents and school administrators working together to ensure the success of students, despite financial challenges. He acknowledged that many parents face significant financial obstacles that can hinder their children’s academic progress.
He stated that working together can create a supportive environment that will help children thrive academically and personally emphasizing the importance of parental support in ensuring the success of their children’s education
Furthermore, Bagyenyi Apollo the headteacher of Ebenezer Christian School encouraged parents to communicate openly with school administrators about their financial challenges and explore available resources and support systems.
He also emphasized on the importance of parents being involved in their children’s education, regardless of financial challenges.
