KASESE- Security operatives in Kasese District have assured tight security towards the world tourism day celebration that is taking place on September 27th2024 in Kasese District.
The event which will take place on Friday this week host the National function to mark the World Tourism day celebrations under the theme, “Tourism and Peace.”
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is expected to officiate at the function that will take place at Nyakasanga Playground in Nyamwamba Division of Kasese Municipality.
Sp. Nelson Tumushime the Rwenzori East region police spokes person has confirmed that security would be tightened to ensure the event is held successfully.
SP. Tumushime made the remarks today morning while addressing a section of residents and members of the civil society organizations who had turn up for the general cleaning exercise in Kasese town a head of the event.
He says police and other security agencies are committed to ensure peaceful commemoration of the world tourism day.
While officially flagging off the cleaning exercise, Mr. Monday Bwambale Grivazio, asked the business community in Kasese Municipality and the neighbouring centers to embrace a clean environment as one way of attracting clients into their businesses especially hotels and other business places.
Some of the people who participated in the general cleanliness including the proprietor of the Mountains Girl Initiative Sarah Ithungu Masereka Baleke say it’s good to keep Kasese clean to favor visitors who are coming to attend the celebrations according to her, Kasese is blessed with a number of tourism sites which should be advertised and maintained.
Other civil society organizations that participated include Red Cross and school children among others.
