NEWS– The Police in Kanungu District are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a 37 year old man identified as Katushabe John Bosco a resident of of Rugando village in Rutojo Parish in Rutenga Sub County who was a security guard at UTL mast in Rutenga.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman ASP Elly Maate told journalists that the deceased was killed and his body was hidden until on Thursday when a decomposed body was found after a skull and bones were seen in Mafuga forest.
Maate explained that the deceased was originally buried in a shallow grave but the dogs removed the body which led to the discovery and the deceased was identified from the clothes he wore and the case was reported by Tingiromwe Moses.
Maate said that the scene was visited by the Police detectives and relevant statements recorded from the witnesses awaiting forensic examination to determine the cause of his death
The Police have since registered the murder case under reference number CRB 335/2024 at Kanungu District Central Police Station to help in investigations.
