NEWS– The Uganda Traffic Police in have confirmed the death of 6 people who died on spot in Kamuli District and 8 others were seriously injured in accident that took place at Nawantumbi Trading centre along Kamuli – Jinja road.

Busoga North Regional Spokesperson Kasadha Micheal told journalists today afternoon that the Police have instituted investigations following the fatal accident.

Kasadha said that the incident involved supercustom motor vehicle registration number UAZ742U, which was part of the Kyabazinga Royal team from Kamuli heading to Jinja.

Kasadha said that it’s alleged that, the motor vehicle which was part of the Kyabazinga royal wedding team convoy lost control and rammed into road side bystanders who viewing the procession killing 6 on spot.

The bodies of the dead were taken to Kamuli General Hospital Mortuary for postmortem examination, and the injured victims were also taken to different health facilities for treatment.

The Police Spokesman Fred Enanga described the accident as unfortunate and blamed it on overspeeding and the illfated motor vehicle is parked at Kamuli District Central Police Station station pending inspection by the Police Inspector of Vehicles.
