The suspect Apprehended

NEWS- Jinja Road Police Division has apprehended an imposter who has been masquerading as state-house military officer.

Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire has identified the suspect as Yusuf-Kakaire, who has been masquerading as Major Kakaire” or “Major Asiimwe,” falsely claiming to be an army officer working within the Office of the President.

According to statements at Jinja-road police, upon his arrest, Kakaire was found in possession of suspected stolen items, along with multiple forged identification documents.

Owoyesigyire explains that by the time of his arrest, he had conned several unsuspecting victims, adding that the suspect will face charges in courts of laws once investigation is complete.

Police have since urged the public, particularly anyone who may have experienced interactions with this individual or been affected by his alleged actions, to come forward with evidence.

“We call on members of the public, who could have experienced interactions with this individual or been affected by his actions, to come forward and reach out to our offices at the Kampala Metropolitan East headquarters on Jinja Road.”Owoyesigyire said.

Several imposters have been arrested, charged and remanded over masquerading as state-house employees to involve themselves in dubious land deals. Last week Abdullah Karim Agaba was sent to prison for impersonating as an employee at statehouse, Agaba is battling three accounts including, obtaining money through false pretence, forcible detainer and theft.
