NEWS– A team of over fifty choir members from South Rwenzori Diocese has been commissioned and flagged off a head of the Uganda martyrs celebration at Namugongo on June 3rd, 2024.
South Rwenzori Diocese is among the six Dioceses from Midwestern region of Uganda to lead the celebrations. Other Dioceses include Masindi, Bunyoro, East Rwenzori and West Rwenzori.
Rev. Alice Mbusa Nabirye of South Rwenzori Diocese, the team leader while setting off asked Christians to keep them in prayers since they are going to travel along distance.
Mr. Gilian Mafunguro the choir instructor, told journalists that he is sure that his team is going to perform excellently since they have trained enough. He noted that this is the second time South Rwenzori Diocese being among the leading teams the first time to participate was 2008.
Mr. Richard Munoli who is in charge welfare for the team, commanded South Rwenzori Diocese for providing all what is needed to them for the function to be colorful.
Ms. Enid Kitara an Employee of South Rwenzori Diocese Messiah Radio who is a member of the choir to participate at Namugongo described the chance of her to go as a blessing in her life and the family.
In a related development, a team of fifty Mothers Union members from South Rwenzori Diocese this morning left for Uganda martyrs celebration at Namugongo on June 3rd, 2024.
Rev. Betty Mbambu Mweru the South Rwenzori Diocese Mothers Union and Family life coordinator has confirmed the Development.
According to Rev. Mweru, the mother’s union members are going to have a seminar about building a debt free life for the family economy and development.
The theme of the Uganda martyrs celebration at Namugongo on June 3rd, 2024 is from Romans 12:1-2 which says not conforming to the partners of this world.
The Church Minister used the same platform to encourage Christians to keep on participating in church activities for their spiritual growth and growing morally upright.
