Among share a moment with the IGG Betii Namisango Kamya together with her Deputies

KAMPALA- The Speaker of Parliament Rt Hon Anita Among on Friday declared her income, assets, and liabilities to the Inspectorate of Government in compliance with the Leadership Code Act, 2002.

Speaker Among encouraged leaders to comply with the law to increase transparency, accountability and public trust.

She added that declaring income, assets and liabilities is an essential aspect in tracking changes in wealth by comparing income, savings and expenditure over a period of time.

While speaking at the same event, the IGG, Beti Namisango Kamya and her deputies also declared their wealth to the Speaker as required by the law.

Beti Kamya said the Online-Declaration System will close at midnight of 31st March 2025 and that the consequences for non-declaration are dire, including removal from office and so far, 37% have declared their wealth.

Section 4 (1) (b) of the Leadership Code Act requires a leader to declare their income, assets and liabilities to the IGG every two years during the month of March and prescribes penalties for breach of the Leadership Code of Conduct.
