NEWS- The Police in Rubanda District have registered a single fatal accident involving Motorcyle registration number no UEU 931B being ridden by Mbabazi Wensislus a bodaboda rider and a resident of Rutoga village in Nyarurambi Ward in Rubanda Town Council.
Kigezi Region Police Spokesman Elly Maate told journalists today that the accident occurred at Murole B Cell also Nyakabungo Ward, in Rubanda Town Council, along Kabale – Kisoro road in Rubanda District.
Its reported that the rider was coming from Kisoro side heading towards Kabale and on reaching a corner slopping to Mukivundwe Area, he lost control and went off-road and fell in a trench hitting his head on a road pavement and died on spot.
Maate explained thst the scene was visited by the Traffic Police team and documented and a postmortem examination was immediately done and the body was handed over to the relatives.
The Police have since reported that preliminary investigation indicate that the primary cause of the accident was over speeding and the fatal accident was registered at Rubanda Central Police Station under reference number TAR 044/2024 to help in investigations.
