KAMPALA- Star times the official sponsor and broadcaster of Uganda premier league and the federation of Uganda football association has revealed that they’re going to broadcast live more football matches in this coming new season which is going to kick start this Friday than those they broadcasted live in last season of 2023-2024.

Speaking to media at star times headquarters in Kampala, the vice president star times Aldrine Nsubuga noted that last season they managed to broadcast live 145 Uganda premier league matches and that this coming 2024-2025 season they intend to increase on the number of matches televised live by 15%.

Aldrine Nsubuga noted that they have decided to increase on the numbers of matches to be televised live so that they can recruit more fans of Ugandan football and he noted that this season the first match to be televised live will be URA taking on KCCA this Friday.

He further added that last season 20 matches where broadcasted live during night and those where the matches with most fans and that this coming season they intend to broadcast more night games.

Aldrine Nsubuga further noted that last Uganda premier league was productive because seven players who participated in league where summoned on Uganda cranes and all managed to play and they all staged up a very good performance during the two matches where Uganda cranes played South Africa and the one of Congo Brazzaville which was at Namboole on Monday evening this week.

Jenkins Matovu head of marketing at Uganda premier league secretariat applauded the initiatives put forward by the Uganda premier league clubs to market their matches and he also appealed to fans to go and by season long tickets for their clubs so that they can be able to watch all the matches this coming season.
