The Police in Bwera Division in Kasese District, are investigating circumstances under which a 34 year old man identified as Thomas Mbalabahi was allegedly strangled to death.
Rwenzori East Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed the incident and explained tgst the deceased was a builder and resident of Kyambogho cell in Mpondwe – Lhubiriha Town Council in Kasese District, whose decomposed body was discovered in his house on Saturday 29th August 2026.

Maate said that on the fateful day Muhunga Geofrey to Nyabugando Trading Center to trace for the deceased as he had wanted him to plaster his house tomorrow Monday and when he reached his home he found the door open and when he called him several times without any reply, he entered the house only to find him lying in his bed dead.
Muhunga infomed the neeighbours and the area chairman Muhindo Jacob who later reported the matter to Bwera Police Station and the body was taken to Bwera Hospital Mortuary where postmortem examination was carried out and it was found that he was strangled to death.
Maate told journalists that investigations are at hand as well as identifying the suspects and their subsequent arrest and asked whoever has information that can lead to those involved, should volunteer it to authorities so that justice is done.
