NEWS– The RDC Ntungamo MUCUNGUZI Geoffrey has appealed to parents and guardians to take care of their children during the holiday season.

RDC Cadre MUCUNGUZI noted  that teachers do their best to discipline students while in school therefore it’s high time  for parents to be close to their children and talk to them to understand the hurdles they face and guide them.

He noted that they should take children to their respective palaces of work to train them in business, than leaving them to watch films on home screens.

Cadre MUCUNGUZI called upon all Ugandans to fight poverty through embracing hard work and engaging capital ventures in order to harness the education of their children.

While presiding over Ruhaama Secondary School PTA annual general meeting held in its premises in Kariisa Library Hall Ruhaama sub county Ntungamo district, also asked married couples to love and respect each other to accelerate unity and cooperation in families.

The chairman Board of governors was represented by Kanuuma Moses who expressed gratitude to the head teacher and staff of Ruhaama SS for effectively using the resources given to them.

Kanuuma who is also the BOD chairman of finance encouraged parents to cooperate with teachers to foster academic excellence and discipline among students as the only way to increase the student enrollment.

The Head teacher Ruhaama Secondary School Tumutoreine Nicholas Quidi hailed the NRM government, ministry of education and sports and the Kariisa family for extending infrastructure development including Library, Computer Lab and Science Lab among others.

Head teacher Tumutoreine is now calling up on all school stakeholders to mobilize for more enrollments from the current one of 510 students since all necessities are available.

He also told parents and the general public that Ruhaama Secondary School enrolled vocational training of hair dressing and tailoring alongside secular teaching to offer some students skills that can help them in holidays and they awarded certificates.

Kwatampora Stephen chairman PTA thanked the parents and well wishers for being supportive and tasked them to be good ambassadors of the school.

Rev Canon Juliet Barigye the chaplain of the school dedicated the meeting to God.

During the PTA general meeting the budget estimate for 2024 was approved.

In another development, RDC Geoffrey Mucunguzi has revealed that President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is very committed to developing Kyamate secondary school into a respectable institution.

Mucunguzi however challenged the parents not to sit on their responsibility of providing scholastic materials as they’re very key in the students’ academic performance.

He made these remarks today as the chief guest during the PTA General meeting of Kyamate secondary school, Ntungamo Municipality, Ntungamo district.

The school head teacher Emmanuel Arinaitwe hailed the President Yoweri Museveni and the First Lady also the Minister of Education and sports for the support offered like construction of new building blocks, tarmac roads in the school among others which have turned around the school.

He revealed that due to this support, they received 232 iron sheets from the office of Prime Minister.

He also applauded the Bishop South Ankole Diocese the Rt Rev Nathan Ahimbisibwe for his tireless support to the school which has improved its academic performance.
