NEWS- The Police in Kisoro District have arrested one suspect, allegedly for assaulting a person leading to his death.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman ASP Elly Maate identified the suspect as 19 year old Irankunda Rachael, a resident of Kagera village in Kagezi Parishin Kanaba Sub-county.
Maate told journalists today afternoon that Iradukunda is alleged to have assaulted 20 year old Julius Sebigori, a casual worker and a resident of Rubange cell in South Ward Chahafi Town Council in Kisoro district.
It is alleged that the incident took place yesterday when Ngabire Bosco who was with others in his bar located at Mukuranka Trading Centre, saw one Sebigori being chased by three unidentified men who seemed to have had a misunderstanding over yet to be known matter.
It is reported that Ngabire Bosco for fear of causing more disruption to his business, decided to close the bar and the three men continued to assault the deceased just in front of his door and ran away leaving him lifeless.
The Police were notified and the scene of crime was visited, processed, documented, and statements were recorded from relevant witnesses and the body was conveyed to Kisoro General Hospital for a postmortem examination.
Maate explained that an exhibit of timber with suspected bloodstains was recovered at the crime scene and one suspect, Irankunda Rachael was arrested to assist the Police with further investigation.
