NEWS- The Police in Rukiga District have arrested three suspects for alleged murder of a 47 years old identified as Peruth Tumuranzye a resident of Kateramabare village in Kyogo Parish in Kamwezi Sub county.
Kigezi Region Police Spokesman ASP Elly Maate has confirmed the arrest and named the three suspects as Ivan Bangirana, Keneth Muzoora and Geofrey Kemerwa all residents of the same above address.
It’s alleged that on the 3rd August 2024, the late Tumuranzye disappeared from her home after a domestic issue with her husband Ivan Bangirana who is one of the suspect but today 8th August 2024, she was found dead in a banana plantation of Kemerwa Geoffrey which is about 800 metres from her home.
Maate said that the Police was alerted by a resident, Darius Asimwe and the scene was visited, processed and documented and postmortem examination was done at Kamwezi Health Center IV and the 3 suspects were arrested to help in investigations.
Maate said that an exhibit of a panga was recovered at the scene and the body had bruises at the head and around the neck, plus a deep dry wound at the back head.
The case of murder by strangulation was registered at Rukiga District Central Police Station under reference number CRB 294/2024 to help in investigations.
