Parts of the shattered motorcycle involved in accident

NEWS– The Police in Kisoro District registered a fatal road accident where a 3 year old boy identified as Dan Ainembabazi, a son to Deusi Twinamatsiko, a resident of Nyamasinda village in Nyanamo Town Council was knocked to death.

Kigezi Region Police Spokesman Elly Maate confirmed the accident and said that it involved motor vehicle registration number UBD186R and a pedestrian.

Maate said that the accident took place yesterday at Byarutagara Trading Center in Nyamasinda village in Nyanamo Town Council along Nyanamo – Rubuguri maram road.

Maate said that the illfated vehicle was being driven by 44 year old Christopher Ngabirano a resident of Southern Division in Kabale Municipality.

It’s alleged that while the motor vehicle was from Rubanda side climbing heading to Nyanamo Town Council, on reaching Byarutagara Trading Center along Rubuguri – Nyanamo maram road, the deceased entered the road abruptly when the vehicle was too close and by the time the driver tried to apply the breaks, it was too late as the tires had already stepped on his head and died on spot.

Maate said that when the Police were informed, Kisoro District Traffic Officer Kushaba Micheal and team visited the scene, processed and documented it and the body was taken to Kisoro General Hospital Mortuary where a postmortem examination was postmortem done and statements were recorded from eye witnesses and the parents of the deceased, body handed over for burial and the motor vehicle is parked at Kisoro Central Police Station pending IoV inspection.

Meanwhile the Police have urged parents and guardians to always be in company of the young ones while on the roads to avoid such incidents.
