KANUNGU- As the 2026 takes shape across the country and gains momentum, the situation in Kinkizi East in Kanungu District, and more contestants have expressed their intention to get involved in the race to gain favor from the voters.
Benedicto N. Rutemba a seasoned leader with a proven track of leadership record of service at various levels has announced his intentions to contest for the Kinkizi East Parliamentary Seat as an independent candidate.
Rutemba was born and raised in Rubimbwa village in Kirima Sub-county in Kinkiizi East Constituency and is a proud son of the soil with deep roots in the community.
Rutemba comes from humble beginnings and attended Burema Primary School and later Kitunga Primary School, where he laid the foundation for his academic excellence before proceeding to San Giovanni School Makiro in Kanungu District and Apostles of Jesus Minor Seminary in Bukinda in presebt day Rukiga District which was marked by outstanding performance, earning him a sponsorship to pursue higher education.
Currently Benedicto N. Rutemba holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the prestigious Urbaniana University in Rome, specializing in African Philosophy with a focus on Political Philosophy and his graduation from Summa Cum Laude Probatus, is itself a testament to his intellectual rigor and dedication.
After recognizing the critical role of agriculture in Africa’s development, Rutemba further pursued a Bachelor’s degree in General Agriculture which equipped him with the knowledge to address one of the continent’s most pressing challenges.
Rutemba leadership journey began in primary school, where he served as a health prefect and class leader and continued through secondary school as a disciplinary committee secretary and Deputy head prefect and while at University, he rose to the position of Guild Vice President and later GuildPresident all which demonstrated ability to inspire and lead.
Beyond academia, Rutemba has dedicated his life to advocacy and community development and is the founder and co-founder of organizations like SEMA Organization where he has been at the forefront of pro-life advocacy, championing the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death.
Rutemba’s commitment to agricultural development, health, education, sports, law and order has earned him the trust and admiration of his people.
Currently, Rutemba serves as the Deputy National Chairman of the Revolutionary Peoples Party (RPP), President General of the Revolutionary Economic Forum (REF) and Country Representative of the Africa Continental Unity Party (ACUP).
He is also the Executive Director of SEMA Organization, where he continues to drive impactful initiatives for economic liberation and social transformation.
Political Philosophy and Vision
As a scholar of Political Philosophy, Benedicto N. Rutemba believes in the power of ethical leadership, participatory governance and sustainable development and his vision for Kinkiizi East Constituency is rooted in three core pillars which include true and meaningful representation and to be the true voice of the people in Parliament, ensuring their concerns are heard and addressed.
He is also looking up to promote transparency and accountability in the management of public resources by deliberating and offering community parliamentary forums where the true views of the people are generated.
Sustainable Agricultural Development:
Rutemba also want to leverage his expertise in agriculture to modernize farming practices, improve food security and create economic opportunities for farmers and advocate for policies that support smallholder farmers and promote agro-processing industries.
He is looking to advocate for holistic community development to improve access to quality education, healthcare, and sports facilities and promote unity and collaboration among communities for collective progress.
