KASESE- The Rwenzori East Regional Police in Kasese District say the 7th September 2024 Fresh Floods have so far claimed two deaths as a result of bursting of River Nyamwamba.
Police have not yet released the details of the deceased persons; however it says several others are still trapped at Kihwa Hots Springs – along Kilembe Road.
SP Nelson Tumushime, the regional Police spokesperson confirmed that Fire and Rescue services police team is on ground rescuing those who are still trapped.
“As Police of Rwenzori East Region -Kasese, we continue to monitor the crisis, we strongly advise people near river Nyamwanba to seek shelter on a higher ground for safety” Nelson Tumushime SP Spokesperson adds.
