KIGEZI- The Police in Kabale District have arrested a 30 years old Nestor Natukunda a casual labourer who allegedly murdered his 21 year old wife identified as Shilla Ainembabazi, both residents of Nyarutuntu village in Butobere Ward in Central Division Kabale municipality.
The incident occurred and it is alleged that, in early January 2025 the deceased left her husband’s home and went to Kampala for shopping, since she wanted to open up a shop upon coming back from Kampala, the husband assaulted her on suspicion of infidelity.
She was taken to the hospital by the father in- law Alex Kwehangana and she was later discharged and went back home, however the husband ambushed her and killed her using a panga which he left in the father’s sweet potato garden across the road.
After which, he went ahead and called his biological brother one Nicolas and informed him of how he had killed his wife who also passed the same information to their father and the father left town went home and confirmed the unfortunate incident and immediately rushed to Kabale Police Station for assistance where the case file of Murder was registered.
The scene of crime was visited, examined and documented by Kabale Police Homicide team led by Detective Mukama Hakim, the district CID Officer and team and relevant statements were recorded from the key witnesses and the body retrieved from the scene and conveyed to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital for postmortem examination.
A search was made where the suspected killer weapon was recovered and exhibited and the suspect was thereafter arrested for questioning and upon the completion of inquiries, will be arreigned before courts of law to answer charges accordingly.
Meanwhile the Police in Rubanda District are investigating the case of murder of Byomuhangi Jorame male a resident of Muruhinga Cell, in Muruhinga Ward in Habihutu Town Council.
It is reported that the incident took place Muruhinga Cell in Muruhinga Ward in Habihutu Town Council in the Rubanda district, when German Robert of the same address and other two friends while heading home from Habihutu Trading Centre and found Byomuhangi Jorame lying at the side of the road leading to his home in a pool of blood.
They first thought that he was still alive and they tried to lift him but found he was already dead and German Robert called Elasie who was nearby and other locals who gathered at the scene and the matter was then reported to Police.
Maate said that the case of murder was registered at Bufundi Police Post and a team of Homicide together with Scene of Crime Officers responded to the crime scene and documented it and a postmortem examination was done and the body handed over to the relatives for burial.
