The Police in Kabale District have registered a fatal road accident that took place at Kyanamira along the Kabale – Mbarara highway and claimed the lives of two people last evening December 4th 2025.
Kigezi Regional Police Spokesman Elly Maate has confirmed the accident and said that it involved motor vehicle registration number KDN 874C truck driven by Munyike Benja Kalinga a Kenyan and resident of Kwale Chengoni in Kenya who died on spot and vehicle registration number UAY 191D driven by unknown driver.
Maate explained that the second victim is yet to be identified but is a male adult suspected to be a passenger on the Kenyan Motor vehicle.
It’s alleged that, motor vehicle registration number KDN 874C which was coming from Mbarara side towards Kabale Town knocked motor vehicle registration number UAY 191D which was in front facing the same direction and immediately it lost control and ended up overturning several times hence killing both the driver and a passenger.
Maate said that the Police were informed and the scene was visited by a team of traffic officers from Kabale Central Police Station and bodies were retrieved and conveyed to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital Mortuary for postmortem examination.
Maate said that preliminary investigations indicate that the cause of the accident was careless driving by the driver of Motor vehicle registration number KDN 874C and investigations are ongoing.
