RUBIRIZI- Two men are on the run for allegedly defiling a 14 year old student in Katerera, Rubirizi district.
The 2 suspects are known by one name each Twesigye and Kakuru all of Katerera Town Council who allegedly raped a14 year old student, resident of Nyamirima 1A, Nyamirima parish in Katerera Sub county Rubirizi district on 26th December 2023.
Facts on ground have it that on that day while the victim and a friend were going to Katerera town to check on a patient in one of the clinics, they met two men they recognized as Twesigye and Kakuru who grabbed the victim and chased the other colleague away and forcefully performed a sexual act with her one after the other in a maize garden.
Later they ran away leaving the victim bleeding but she supported herself and reported the matter to Katerera police station and later rushed to a nearby clinic in Katerera where she was later referred to Rugazi HC IV for proper medication.
Scene was visited by a team of investigators from Katerera police station with soco, recorded some statements and issued the PF3A to the victim for examination. Police findings indicate that the victim was over bleeding so had to first be taken for medication.
The Greater Bushenyi Police Spokesperson SSP Marcial Tumusiime confirmed this incident to this publication on Thursday 28th December 2023 stressing that inquiries are in progress and efforts are being made to have the suspects arrested.
