KABALA- The Police in Kabale District have registered the death of two unidentified people who died in an accident at Nyakijumba along Kabale Mbarara road.
Kigezi Region Police Spokesman Elly Maate said that the two died when vehicle registration number UAJ 353Y driven by unknown driver who is on run knocked motorcycle registration number UGH 748T ridden by unknown rider who died on spot including a passenger and both had no identification papers.
It’s alleged that, while the driver of motorvehicle registration number UAJ 353Y was coming from Mbarara to Kabale side and when he reached at Nyakijumba near Harvest Petrol Station, lost control and knocked the rider of motorcycle registration number UGH 748T who was coming from Kabale side on his lane and died on spot.
The scene was visited by Police Copal Mugabi and team and the bodies the rider and a passenger were taken to Kabale Regional Referral Hospital Mortuary pending postmortem examination and Police is appealing to anyone missing the dear to visit the Hospital Mortuary so that they are identified and taken for a decent burial.
Maate said that the motorcycle registration number UGH 748T was towed to Kabale CPS yard while motorvehicle is still at the scene where it 8s guarded by Police awaiting to be offloaded and the preliminary investigations indicated that the suspected cause of the accident is reckless driving by the driver of the truck although more inquiries still at hand as Police hunt for the runaway driver.
