The Uganda Red Cross Society, in partnership with the United Nations Children’s Fund is conducting orientation meetings with various stakeholders in Kanungu on preparedness and prevention of Ebola.

This initiative aims to promote awareness and encourage the general public to remain vigilant and observe all standard operating procedures, despite the country currently being Ebola-free.

The campaign targets all children between 9 months and 59 months of age. Parents and guardians are strongly urged to visit the nearest health facilities and the designated posts by the district to have their children vaccinated.

Additionally, the Uganda Red Cross wishes to inform the public that a nationwide free mass vaccination campaign against measles and rubella will take place from October 1st to October 5th 2026.
