NEWS– The Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces and the Armed Forces of the Democratic Republic of Congo, in the ongoing operation, codenamed “Operation Shujaa,” have captured a commander of the Allied Democratic Forces terrorist group by the name of Anywari Al Iraq, also known as AA.
Anywari, an expert in improvised explosive devices (IEDs), is born of Busia district in Eastern Uganda and uring the operation, one sub-machine gun (SMG), 45 rounds of ammunition, 03 walkie-talkies, 1 RPG charger, and an assortment of improvised explosive device (IED) making materials were recovered.
According to the UPDF Mountain Division/Operation Shujaa Public Relations Officer Major Bilal Katamba, 4 children and 5 women were rescued in Ituri province in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo and these are receiving basic medical attention as arrangements are underway to transfer them to a better medical facility.
Major Katamba told journalists today morning that the joint forces continue to pursue the ADF terrorists from all directions in their areas of operation to ensure that they are eliminated completely.
